The “Golden Rule” is the foundation for a variety of community projects that McCutchen and Sexton embrace. Safety is the substance of each project that The Law Firm supports beginning with “Project Safety,” a consumer protection program that includes our child passenger seats safety initiative. Proper safety measures include protecting children when riding in a motor vehicle. This starts with the proper safety seat.
Each year, “Project Safety” includes a program where McCutchen and Sexton invite the public to inspection stations where unsafe recalled and outdated child safety seats are replaced free of charge. The latest program was on April 9, 2011. Certified safety seat inspectors provided screening of safety seats and hands-on instruction to parents for proper installation.
To extend assistance to Haiti after the devastating earthquake in 2010, The Law Firm initiated the 1st Annual Autumnrun at Chaffee Crossing. The Western Arkansas Runners hosted the event, while local runners and walkers helped to raise funds for sustainable garden projects in Haiti. The 5k event will be repeated each fall benefiting various charities.
The tragic tornado that hit Cincinnati, Arkansas on New Year’s Eve 2010 has left many local residents in need of assistance. The Law Firm organized “Project Good Neighbor” on February 26, 2011. Volunteers from the Fort Smith region spent a Saturday helping to clean up debris and assisting residents with the rebuilding of their community.
In August 2011, McCutchen and Sexton donated a bicycle to Spradling Elementary as a perfect attendance award. The bike will be displayed in the cafeteria as an incentive for students to qualify for the quarterly prize. Mandy Brooks and Joey McCutchen were photographed shortly before the presentation.
